Poached Pears with Maple Cream

Poached Pears with Maple Cream

Gingered Cider Poached Pears with Maple Cinnamon Cream

Cream is possibly the greatest ingredient ever. It goes well with everything-dessert, fish, coffee, shaving lotion...you name it, cream is good for it.

Prep time: 15 mins
Cook time: 45 mins
Serves: 4

Ingredients:
4 pears, quartered and seeded
1 can cider, you could sub wine here too
1 inch ginger, smashed
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 cinnamon stick
1/8 tsp nutmeg, grated

Directions:
Twist the base of your GoSun so that the insert is angled up, load it with the pear quarters and ginger. Pour the cider in. In your GoSun brew, add the cream, maple syrup, and cinnamon. Slide this inside the tube with the pears beneath in the actual tube. Let cook for 45 minutes until the pears are soft and the cream is bubbling. Just drizzle the cream over the pears, sprinkle with cinnamon and serve. You can whip this cream too. Just let it cool first. Oh and don’t throw out the cider. Since the GoSun traps all that steam, the alcohol hasn’t really cooked off. It’s now gingery and sweetened by the pears.
