The GoSun Chill: A Cooler With Solar Panels

The GoSun Chill: A Cooler With Solar Panels

A fridge is one of the least-portable devices in existence. If you don't believe us, try moving one up a flight of stairs, then let us know how it goes. But when you have a solar cooler that is powered by solar panels, you now have a portable, zero-carbon way to chill your food.

How do you do it? All you have to do is get yourself a GoSun Chill and pair it with a 30-watt solar panel.

In this post, we will give an overview of portable fridges, then tell you why we think the best of the lot is the GoSun Chill.

The Chill has numerous advantages over a regular cooler when it comes to camping.

First, there is no need for ice. Tired of having food turned into a soggy mush if it isn't protected by three layers of Ziploc bags? Tired of having to drive into town every 24 hours to replenish your supply of ice? A solar fridge for camping is the way to get out of the ice age. Plus you can now utilize 100 percent of the space within a cooler when ice isn't part of the equation.

Second, this portable fridge can ironically help you to stay more grid-connected by being able to recharge your electronic devices.  In the case of the GoSun Chill, it is powered by a portable lithium battery pack. The large 150 watt-hours solar power pack can also power laptops, cell phones, and many other portable accessories, making it the perfect outdoor product to be prepared for a power outage or emergency. The detachable power bank packs enough juice to charge your phone 20 times over.

Here's how it all comes together with a solar panel. In the video below, GoSun customer Peter Salib unboxes this innovative cooler than uses solar energy to keep your food and drinks cool and explains how it works.

Here's a transcript of the video:

Hey everybody welcome back to Show and Tell. I'm Peter
Saleeb. Thanks for watching.
So today we have the GoSun Chill. this is a solar powered cooler to take to the beach, barbecues, picnics, parks, or wherever you're going. What's neat about this is that it's going to keep your cooler experience very clean and very simple. You don't need to worry about ice and draining the water after you're done and all of that general mess
So with the cooler it's going to be a pretty big compartment. You have a ton of features here, and there's some tech involved. You can actually set the temperature and maintain it anywhere between negative 4 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit so you can keep things frozen or just cooled and chilled.
You also have tie downs so you can go from the front all the way up to the top with the handle and kind of store things on there. se it as your carrier as you're going different places. And then there's also a bottle opener right on the back so you could open up your bottles and keep the party going.
So how does this guy work? So you see the patches back here, right? That's where you're gonna put the big battery pack. This has thirty thousand milliamps, so this is enough to power the whole Chill now all day and all night, even if you're camping [and] don't have access to power.
Well that's where this solar panel is going to come in. So this solar panel is flexible; it's going to produce 30 watts and you're going to use a solar panel to charge the pack, and then the pack keeps the cooler powered.
So that's how the ecosystem works. Gosun as a company has a full ecosystem of solar products everywhere, from cookers to water purifiers and water cleaners and even this cooler. So this is again made by GoSun; this is the Chill. It's available on their website and other places.
So thanks for watching. Hope you get out there and have some fun. Take care and thanks for watching.
